About Me

Beaumont is in my blood. My family—the Goudreau and Hinse families—were among the original settlers here. I grew up on a farm just north of town, graduated from high school at Beaumont Composite High aka “The Comp”, and built a lifetime of friendships and memories rooted in this community.

Back in the day, community wasn’t something you had to “build”—it was something you lived. Neighbours shared tractors and balers. They helped with harvests. They didn’t always agree, but they always showed up—for each other, and for the future of the town. That spirit has shaped who I am, and it’s the spirit I carry into my work as a leader.

Today, I’m proud to raise my two children here with my husband, along with our dog. I want my kids and yours to grow up in a Beaumont that still holds onto that sense of connection, even as we grow and change.

From an early age, I learned the value of leadership and collaboration. At just 21, I became the youngest District Commissioner for the Clearwater Valley Pony Club and helped found the Beaumont Horse Trials, events and programs that still thrive today. In high school, I was part of our curling team that was Beaumont’s first provincial championship, proving that with the right focus and teamwork, big things are possible. My education background is a Bachelor of Professional Arts in Criminal Justice with a diploma in Security and Investigations.

Professionally, I’ve built a career spanning both the non-profit and private sectors. I’ve worked with at-risk populations, developing programs that were later adopted by the courts, and I’ve led safety and loss prevention initiatives for major organizations with territories that spanned Western Canada. I currently run my own business that helps organizations and leaders thrive through human centric leadership coaching and socio-economic consulting. I’ve always believed that lasting success whether in business or in community comes from putting people first.

Throughout the past few years while on council, I’ve strengthened my leadership through education and service:

  • Certified Leadership and Performance Coach, helping leaders and teams achieve their potential.
  • Certificate in Governance Essentials, through the Institute of Corporate Directors, giving me a deep understanding of board governance and accountability.
  • Member, Economic Strategy Committee, Alberta Municipalities, where I help shape policy and advocate for the economic strength of municipalities across the province.
  • Board Member, Rise Up Society of Alberta — providing governance oversight and strategic direction for a non-profit dedicated to supporting individuals impacted by intimate partner violence.

These experiences have taught me how to bring people together, navigate complexity, and achieve results—skills I’ve brought to my four years on Beaumont City Council. I’ve built strong relationships with our regional partners, the provincial government, and key stakeholders, knowing that Beaumont’s success depends on collaboration beyond our city limits.

We are at a pivotal moment. Growth is here, and so are new challenges—housing, service levels, cost of living, economic opportunity, and the need to keep our identity intact.

My commitment is to lead Beaumont with the values that built it: trust, collaboration, and community and to bring a hands-on, communicative, and accountable leadership style.

Because Beaumont’s future isn’t just something we talk about. It’s something we build together.
